In 1996 Don and Sharon Endsley decided it was time to create a new modern day
version of the 'Wild West Show' as Buffalo Bill had done years ago. Don & Sharon
searched for the very best award winning performers, daredevil trick riders, trick
ropers, roman riders, Native American 'Hoop Dancers', a rip roarin' stagecoach, Texas
Longhorns, Singin' Cowboys and Cowgirls, and Western acts of all kinds, added spot
lighting and production music, dramatic effects, a touch of Western history and lots of
action and thrills and The Great American Wild West Show was born.
Don had produced a Western variety show for the Houston Livestock Show in the
mid 80's thru the early 90's. The crowds and response were huge and other State Fairs
and Festivals across the country took notice and wanted a show like this. So, The
Great American Wild West Show got bigger and better and started touring the USA.
"Our goal was to present Western family entertainment at it's highest level with the
presentation and production similar to a Broadway Show, except this show takes place
in a large arena surrounded by 5 to 6 thousand spectators. Our audiences love it!
They stand in long lines for an autographed poster or photo with our performers. They
tell us it brings back great memories when they were kids watching the Cowboy
Heroes on TV and the movies and they want their kids and grandkids to have that kind
of experience, and they do...." Don Endsley.
Don and Sharon have spent their entire lives together performing and being involved
in the Western lifestyle. Before creating The Great American Wild West Show, Don
spent 30 years as one of the top professional rodeo announcers in the country. He was
the 'voice' of the last NFR held in Oklahoma City in 1984. In 2011 Don will be inducted
into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth where the Endsleys lived for 25
years.
The spectacular arena shows are the trademark but The Great American Wild West
Show has been featured in many versions for venues like the legendary Stardust Hotel
And Casino in Las Vegas and special events for Boyd Gaming, opening ceremonies for
the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, western themed activities for the New Orleans
NBA Hornets Basketball, Denver Nuggets, Mark Twain Days in Hartford, Conn., Teddy
Roosevelt Days in Montauk, Long Island, NY, and many more.
Producing The Great American Wild West Show is a family operation with Don and
Sharon writing the scripts, producing the music, designing the lighting, booking the
dates and always looking for new ways to make it all more thrilling and exciting year
after year. Son, Tim and his wife Mandy are the show productions managers and stage
directors. They oversee the move in and all set ups, coordinating all the many behind
the scenes elements of the shows and direct the shows.
The award winning "Great American Wild West Show" has become the premier, one
of a kind, western show for family audiences everywhere from East to West. It is
always SPECTACULAR! YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT!
